Goa’s Mopa Airport Adds Direct Flights to 8 New Domestic Destinations

Manohar International Airport, also known as Mopa Airport, has recently added direct flights to eight new domestic destinations. The airport, which is Goa’s second airport, now offers direct flights to a total of 21 cities across India. The announcement was made by GMR Goa International Airport Ltd (GGIAL) on Tuesday.

New Direct Flights

The new direct flights are part of the summer schedule and have been added by IndiGo and Vistara. IndiGo has added direct flights from Mopa to Amritsar, Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore, Guwahati, Ranchi, Rajkot, and Visakhapatnam. Meanwhile, Vistara has a direct flight to Lucknow.

Since it started operations on January 5, Mopa airport has been offering direct flights to thirteen cities, including Delhi, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, Nashik, Jaipur, Chennai, Nagpur, Varanasi, and Chandigarh.

Boost for Tourism

GGIAL’s Chief Executive Officer, RV Sheshan, stated that the gradual and constant growth in the number of destinations will boost tourism and positively impact socio-economic activities in Goa. The airport is committed to providing its partners, passengers, and all stakeholders with a world-class experience.

GGIAL is a subsidiary of GMR Airports Infrastructure Ltd. In the last three months, Manohar International Airport has handled approximately seven lakh passengers and 5,000 arrivals and departures.

Summer Flight Schedule

The summer flight schedule started on March 26 and will continue until October 28, after which the winter schedule begins. With the addition of eight new domestic destinations, Mopa Airport is expected to witness an increase in passenger traffic during the summer season.

The new direct flights will provide travellers with more options and convenience when travelling to and from Goa. With the airport’s commitment to providing world-class services, it is set to become a preferred choice for many domestic travellers.
