Country’s largest carrier IndiGo has announced new codeshare connections to Edinburgh. The new connection effective May 8, 2023, via Istanbul will offer travellers more options and easy access to Scotland, bolstering IndiGo’s vision of increasing international connectivity.The airline said that IndiGo’s expanding network of codeshare destinations with Turkish Airlines now includes connections to 33 destinations in Europe.

Commenting on the development, Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales, IndiGo, said, “We are delighted to announce the launch of new codeshare connections to Edinburgh via Istanbul. Edinburgh is Scotland’s compact, hilly capital, and extremely popular with tourists. This new route will offer seamless connectivity and affordable options for Indian travellers to explore yet another new destination. IndiGo now connects 33 destinations in Europe with addition of Edinburgh. Through its codeshare arrangement with Turkish Airlines, IndiGo has been adding connections to European destinations over the last few months. These codeshare connections provide access to the countries including Bulgaria, Spain, the Netherlands, Greece, Belgium, Hungary, Denmark, the Republic of Ireland, the United Kingdom, Malta, France, the Czech Republic, Israel, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, and Portugal.

Edinburgh, capital of Scotland, is a global hub for experiencing Scottish culture. It is well-known for its magnificent gallery and museum collections, performing arts scene, and world-renowned festivals. The beating heart of Scotland is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with the largest number of listed buildings in the UK and is regarded as one of Europe’s most attractive cities.
