Notably, the official website for Malaysia’s electronic visa application (ENTRI) has been unavailable since September 26 with a maintenance message on it.
Malaysia Single-Entry Visa
As the ENTRI visa is not available travellers are left with only the option of applying for a Single-entry visa in person. This means to obtain a Malaysian visa, Indian citizens must now personally hand over their visa applications at the Malaysian consulates in Chennai, Mumbai, or New Delhi.
It must be noted that the issuance of group visas for tourists has also been temporarily stopped.
Procedures for Applying for Malaysia Single-Entry Visa
The High Commission of Malaysia in a notice said that the single-entry visa into Malaysia will be temporarily processed by the Visa Section from Tuesday, 11 October 2022.
According to the Embassy of Malaysia, Indian citizens residing in the States/ Union Territories of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu Kashmir, Jharkhand, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bengal, Andaman Nicobar, Chandigarh and Delhi should reach the Visa Application Centre at Chanakyapuri in New Delhi.

- Timings: 9:00 am to 12:00 pm
Applicants residing outside the territories mentioned above should apply to the respective Consulate General of Malaysia in Mumbai or the Consulate General of Malaysia in Chennai.
Documents Required for Malaysia Single-Entry Visa
According to the Malaysian Embassy, applicants must provide the following supporting documents for Single-Entry visa applications.
- Copy of the Malaysia Visa Application Form filled by the applicant.
- Original Valid Passport.
- Copy of Original Valid Passport.
- Copy of confirmed flight ticket (roundtrip) to Malaysia.
- Copy of valid hotel booking in Malaysia.
- Photos of applicants (2pcs with white background).
Kindly noted that printing services are not available at the High Commission premises.
The Malaysian Single-Entry Visa costs INR 1,000, and payment must be made in the form of a bank draft or demand draft made payable to the HIGH COMMISSION OF MALAYSIA. It should be noted that the Embassy does not accept Debit cards, Credit cards or Cash payments.
Six Days for Malaysia Visa
The Malaysian High Commission stated that only individual visa applications are currently being processed; group submissions by agents/individuals acting on behalf of others will not be accepted for the time being.

SEV is an official endorsement stamp/sticker issued on a passport that enables Indian nationals to travel and enter Malaysia. Applicants obtain SEV by submitting SEV forms and supporting documents to the Visa Section-High Commission of Malaysia.

Yes, applicants are required to pay an INR 1000 processing fee for SEV as it is regarded as a new application unrelated to eVisa.

Malaysia Visa On-Arrival Fees
The VOA fee is RM200.00 (approximately INR 3520.00), and visitors must show that they have at least USD500 cash (or equivalent in Ringgit Malaysia) and a confirmed return ticket. Visitors are only allowed to stay for 15 days.
