Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) was launched by the central government in order to provide income support to all landholding farmer families in order to help them meet their additional financial needs for purchasing various inputs for agriculture and related activities as well as for domestic needs.
All of these farmer families can request to have their names included to the beneficiary list by contacting the District Level Grievance Redressal Monitoring Committee in their Districts. Additionally, the government has established a dedicated Farmers’ Corner on the PM-KISAN website, which provides the various services to farmers. According to the PM Kisan revised FAQ page, below are the three different options or links for services to farmers;

New Farmer’s Registration: The farmers can electronically submit their information by clicking the link. The online form includes self-declaration on eligibility as well as a few required fields. Once the farmer has successfully completed and submitted the Form, it is automatically sent to the State Nodal Officer (SNO) for review. The SNO checks the information entered by the farmer and transmits the checked information to the PM-KISAN site. The data is then processed through a recognised payment system.

Edit Aadhaar details – The farmer can update his or her name via this link according to the information on their Aadhaar Card. After system authentication, the changed name is then updated.

Beneficiary Status – Through this link, beneficiaries can check the status of their instalment payments individually by providing their Aadhaar number, bank account number, or registered mobile number.

Ahead of Diwali, PM Narendra Modi released the 12th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM Kisan) financial benefit to eligible farmer families on October 17, 2022 During the two-day PM Kisan Samman Sammelan 2022 event, PM Modi distributed Rs 16,000 crore to the PM Kisan beneficiaries via Direct Benefit Transfer.

According to a PIB release dated october 15, 2022, “The benefit is transferred directly to the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer mode, using modern digital technology. So far, eligible farmer families have received benefit of more than Rs. 2 lakh crore under PM-KISAN through 11 instalments. Of this, Rs 1.6 lakh Crore has been transferred during the COVID pandemic period. With the 12th instalment to be released by Prime Minister on 17.10.2022, the total amount transferred to the beneficiaries is expected to cross well over Rs 2.16 lakh Crore.”
