Are you planning a trip to Thailand in the near future? If so, you should be aware of a new requirement announced by the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) for international travellers to enter Thailand.

All airlines have been informed by the CAAT that beginning on Monday, January 9, full vaccination will be required of all international passengers arriving in the Kingdom of Thailand.

List of approved COVID-19 vaccines in Thailand

In view of the latest requirements, the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has published a list of vaccines that are approved for entry into Thailand.

This list does not include travellers under 18 years of age or individuals who have recovered from COVID-19 within the past 6 months but more than 7 days ago.

Are You Fully Vaccinated and Ready to Travel to Thailand?

According to the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), visitors to Thailand must fulfil one of the following requirements to be considered as fully vaccinated:

  • They must receive their second dose of a two-dose vaccine at least 14 days prior to their travel date to Thailand.
  • They must receive a single-dose vaccine at least 14 days prior to their travel date to Thailand.
  • In cases where different vaccines are used in a “mix-and-match” manner, travellers must receive their second dose of a different vaccine within the recommended interval of the first vaccine at least 14 days prior to their travel date to Thailand.

Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate Requirements

Before you can travel to Thailand, you must ensure that you have met the full vaccination requirement. After you have received all necessary vaccinations, you must also check to ensure that your vaccination certificate includes the following information:

  • First Name and Last Name;
  • Date of Birth; 
  • Nationality;
  • Passport or Identification No.;
  • Name of the COVID-19 vaccine;
  • Vaccination dates;
  • Vaccine manufacturer and lot/batch number;
  • The authorised organisation in the country of origin.

Do children need to be vaccinated in order to travel to Thailand?

To enter Thailand, all individuals 18 years of age and older must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 with an approved vaccine at least 14 days prior to their travel date.

Individuals between the ages of 5 and 17 years old who are travelling to Thailand without accompaniment by an adult must also receive at least one dose of an approved vaccine at least 14 days prior to travel.

Children travelling with their parents are exempt from this requirement.
