Soon after Sri Lanka recovered from the major economic crisis and started to stamp its presence in one of its key source markets- India, its national carrier SriLankan Airlines too ramped up efforts to lure back the Indian travellers to the island nation, now with a new range of holiday packages. As a part of celebrating the 75 years of Sri Lanka’s independence, the national carrier launched its latest range of holiday packages under the ‘Dil full of Sri Lanka’ campaign.

According to the airline’s official statement, ‘Dil full of Sri Lanka’ is carefully curated by the Airlines’ leisure arm, SriLankan Holidays. It presents a range of itineraries and experiences that appeal to visitors of different travel interests, with an unbelievable ‘buy one get one free’ offer.

The packages, both for the economy and business travellers will include the return airfares from respective destinations, 5* and 4* hotel accommodation and transfers at destination as per the itinerary shared on


SriLankan announced the event at a press conference in Colombo on International Women’s Day. Further, the airline has branded an aircraft with Raid Amazones 2022 themed livery to bring Sri Lanka into the limelight as an adventure and sports tourism destination on a global scale.

The packages are aimed to attract couples, families, friends, siblings who anticipate travelling overseas together, starting with 3 nights with customised addons. These are typically created for 2 persons and can be extended to accommodate up to 8 travellers.

“Travellers from India always hold a special place in the hearts of Sri Lankans for their unquenchable hunger for discovery, which has made India, Sri Lanka’s topmost tourism source market,” the airline spokesperson shared during the launch of the campaign.

Currently, the airline connects nine Indian cities to Colombo with 84 flights a week which include 19 flights out of Chennai, 12 flights out of New Delhi, 10 flights out of Cochin, 9 flights out of Mumbai, daily flights out of Tiruchirappalli, Madurai, Hyderabad, and Bangalore and six times a week out of Trivandrum.

“The Airline takes pride in unveiling a range of holiday experiences that portray Sri Lanka’s trademark cultural vibrancy, ecological beauty, and the inherent hospitality of its people. The journeys are mapped in such a way to take the travellers through the most attractive holiday getaways such as Dambulla and Kandy of central Sri Lanka, and Galle, Bentota and Colombo of the South,” the statement further added.
